What happened to bluqube.blogspot.com?
It happened on Saturday, mostly since the morning. Bluqube.blogspot was blocked from my office, so I can't be sure, but a Google search on "Lizzam" that morning results in only 500+ search results, rather than the usual 2000 results.
That night, when I was intending to write a post on a selfish person I saw that evening, I realised that bluqube.blogspot can't be found. IT-lah! did not have the same problem, though. I panicked, and start searching for means to ask for help, but to no avail. I did found a Google Group on problems relating to Blogger, though, and got to know that some other blogs have the same fate as bluqube.blogspot.
The next day, DJ taught me how to copy my previous posts from Google's cache. I spent the whole day, copying all the posts from Google. All 65mb of it.
Monday evening, I started Lizzam.blogspot, to replace bluqube.blogspot, since I can't get the same URL. I used the old layout, but tweaked here and there, since some of the widgets and links was directed to my old blog.
Tuesday evening, I started to re-post my old posts, starting with the latests. This will take a while, but as I post the old ones, I will still be updating new stuff!
Stay tuned!
When Cleavage Acts Better Than The Actor
Excellent! Eva's cleavage's acting is superb! Better than Nicholas Cage's!!!And if someone wants to know the summary about this movie, I'd go:
It's a movie about a biker from hell where ALL the clothes Eva Mendes' wear shows her cleavage! What more can I say? Some of the scripts are funny, but the actings are not. The effects are cool, but the scenes are not.
Although it's a bit better than Daredevil and Elektra (all three directed my Mark Steven Johnson), there's no story in it. In a world where we have Batman Begins, Superman, Spiderman, Spawn, X-Men and even Fantastic Four movies.
Oh yeah, if you'd think about comparing Spawn and GR, go on. Just DO NOT attempt to compare the 2 movies. Spawn is FAAAARRRR better than GR. Maybe they want to tap into the family/children's market like Fantastic Four, but Like DD and Elektra, it sucks.
Marvel, if you're reading this, please don't give any more rights to MSJ, and don't corrupt the cool images of the comic characters you have by letting this fella make a movie out of it.
MSJ is the Prof Maddy of the Comic-to-Film genre. Enough said.
The best part of my RM6 spent watching this movie is the excellent THX cinema hall in Summit, and watching a guy got scolded for talking on the phone loudly in the middle of the movie. Now I don't know what happened in San Vaganza...or whatever the place is called.
Who Says It's Easy Being The Last?
- If our siblings are successful, we have to be on par or higher, no less.
- If our siblings are not successful, we carry the burden of being the best, no matter the cost, for the sake of the family's name.
- We have to be the best, since our parents have been 'experimenting' with the elder siblings, so they expect the best to come out of us.
- Most of the time we'll have to wait for our siblings to marry before it's our turn, no matter how ready we are.
- If our siblings did some mistakes when they're young, we will be the one restricted to do many things, in the name of "protection".
- We don't have the privilege to be "looked up to" by our family. Maybe their children would.
- We get to be instructed to do this and that, in a sense of seniority.
- Our thoughts may not be accepted,as compared to our siblings, as they are older and "more matured".
- People act around us, as if we're a stereotypical spoiled kid, for being the last.
- People respect us less when they know we're the last child in the family.
- We had to be a burden to our older siblings if the family is not doing well. How may cases have you heard where the last child skipped school and work to make sure the eldest stay in school/college.
- Parents uses more jealousy-related encouragements with us, especially amongst siblings and close relatives, rather than the older siblings.
- If there's inheritance of possessions, we get to get the used things. Of course some lucky ones would get new ones (as in my case, since 12 years age gap with my youngest elder sibling is too long for something to be inherited).
But hey, we
did I miss anything?
How to find local porn in the Net

Here's what happened about 2 years ago. I was just starting to work in an office in PJ. One day, I saw this article in Mastika, about how a group of people records couples making out in some recreational park, and distributing it on VCDs, and via the Net.
Curious, I went on a hunt via the Net, and found a reservoir of such videos, alongside some others captured on cameraphones. From there, I found more and more similar sites, some from links provided by the videos and images, some from the links in the site itself.
Some of these images and videos are most probably from digital cameras and cameraphones which were stolen, or the image itself were taken by some irresponsible image printing operator. Not to mention those stored in hard disks and found by those repairing or servicing it. Some, are taken purposely to be spread, such as voyeur and self-prostituting images.
What I'm trying to say is, putting too much information about something like this is actually considered as a free advertisement. People went from not knowing anything at all about it, to knowing too much. A simple search on Google could return all the relevant sites, as done by me at that time.
Recently, there's an article on Metro on the front page, about some kids singing to some illicit songs on Youtube. The image they've shown on the article (on the front page) suggests that there's also some illicit imagery. Imagine the amount of searches these videos will have after the exposure, giving them much wanted popularity (after all, they did post it on Youtube's public domain).
At times, these exposure are good, since one of the articles in Metro had caused one of the sites to close down. But most of the times, we have no control of the site itself, since it's managed by non-local hosting, so the public are helpless, and the perverts gain access to it.
Simply put, if there's something the public should not know, then don't talk about it, but close it discreetly. This is what governments all over the world have been doing. although there are much debate on the freedom of speech and the right to know, these are the kind of things that public should not know about ungoverned.
Review on Pan's Labyrinth, Babel, and Kyle XY
Once when I was in my Primary years, there was this movie on TV3, called Labyrinth (if I'm not mistaken). I was scared and had trouble sleeping for the whole week. So when I saw this movie's trailer on Apple.com, the Labyrinth movie and it's effect quickly comes to mind.
But then, I'm older now, and it shouldn't be that scary anymore, right?
Half right, half wrong. although I did not have trouble sleeping afterwards, but the imagery still stuck in my head. Pan's Labyrinth, although with it's child character, is not a mere child fantasy story. It's a dark movie, of which the dark fantasies reflects our dark side.
I'm not supposed to tell you the story, nor do you need a synopsis to enjoy it. Quite the contrary. Similar to Babel, this movie needs to be enjoyed with as little knowledge of its story as possible.
The fantasy world in this story is fascinating, but too little for my liking. It's like the writer only managed to conjure several characters, unlike the vast variety of characters of The Big Fish, Narnia, and even Alice in Wonderland. It's also dark scary, which reminds me of the movie Silent Hill and several games of that genre. Don't expect the Faun in this movie to be as cute as the one in Narnia, what more to be like the one in (oh, god forbid) Epic Movie.
The story, however, is enticing. Although it is not entirely clear which is real, which is not, but it is told in such a simple manner, that no confusion would ensue. Everything is told one by one, mostly through the eyes of Ofelia, the female protagonist in this movie.
The adventures are simple, and reminds me of the 'dangerous' tasks Harry Potter endured in The Goblet of Fire. and there are too little. Even Alice in Wonderland or Wizard of Oz have more adventure, that outshines this movie in comparison. The military outpost on which the story is set do not look like a genuine one, with the lack of security and all. Maybe it was how it was at that time, but other epic military movies seems to suggest otherwise.
One thing that boggles my mind is, why is the title "Pan's Labyrinth"? In it's original language, Spanish, the title is 'El Laberinto del Fauno' , which translates to The Faun's Labyrinth. How come a Faun is called Pan? Is Peter Pan a Faun?
Now, it's hard to do a review on this movie, without letting out too much information and ruin the ending, or even the journey itself. One had to watch him/herself to truly appreciate the visuals, subliminals, and the colors (or the lack thereof) of this movie. I would suggest this to most of you, but be prepared to winch at the gore sights that awaits you. Not for the faint-hearted, this movie.
I'd give it 3.5/5 stars
Babel
Babel is a unique piece of art. A confusing one too. As a synopsis, there’s 4 stories, all interconnected to each other by an incident, set in 4 very different locations, in 4 very different languages and environments, in 4 different timeline. See, I told you it would be confusing, but interesting nevertheless, yes?
I don’t know how they’d imagine doing this kind of storytelling, since it’s new to me. Each story is linear on its own, but when combined into a movie, the Director refused to adhere to the timeline, instead he tells it, as he wants it. Kind of Christopher Nolan’s Memento. But that’s way linear as compared to this movie.
Story wise, it’s about listening and understanding each other, hence the title and the tagline. The entire crisis in this movie is because of presumptions, and miscommunications. How US presumes that all of its citizen’s mishaps in Middle East were caused by terrorists, and how alien a person would be if s/he failed to communicate to the world as the world wants it.
I literally watched it with my jaws hanging, as this is the kind of movie where we could not predict the ending. The chance that it would have a tragic ending, or a happy one is equal. Not to mention that there’s 4 stories to worry about.
If you’re into a crisis type of movie, with not much action, lots of talking, and delves into the dark side of reality, I’d recommend you this movie. To me, it’s brilliant. It makes you wonder how things would turn out to be in the end, as it would have been in the real life.
I’d give it 4/5 stars
********************
I have to admit. When TV3 aired the advert for this series, I was thinking "what kind of a lame title is this. Not another John Doe kind of movie. Typical. LAME!!!". Seriously, it's exactly what I was thinking.
But on the pilot episode, I realized that this is not a run-of-the-mill investigation series, like John Doe, Numb3rs, or even CSI. The writer(s) for this series managed to combine a family values genre, with an investigative genre.
Maybe the writers throws in the family/humanity values to make us fall in love with Kyle, before they turn the series upside down by putting Kyle in a difficult position. But that's just my guess, judging from previous series, and the mysterious endings on each episode.
I believe the main attraction of this series, is the "discoveries" Kyle has on a daily basis. It reminds us on what we do every day, and why we do it, even the idiotic ones. It's nice to be reminded of ourselves once in a while. And the 'thoughts' of Kyle always bring a smile to me for it's sincerity, and how confusing we would seem to others.
I'm still following this series, it's still new to give it a rating. But for a family values series' perspective, it's sure a nice twist rather than the normal dysfunctional family shows.
Who's the Bad Driver Now?
Have you been wondering, after all the rantings, cussing, bitching, how do YOU drive? I did, and if I can sit by myself while I'm driving (that's hard to type, let alone to do), only then would I know for sure.
I've sat aside drivers who won't stop cussing at the 'other irresponsible' drivers, only to do the exact things s/he 'despised' her/himself. Even the females do this. No, make that EVERYONE.
When we're at the steering wheel, we're in our own bubble, our own world. We do as we wish, and reacts to the other 'bubbles' around us. We always believe that we're doing the right thing, for the right reasons and we expect others to obey and follow suit.
Do we believe that we're always right about something? Nowadays, there's a lot of blog posts about (other) bad drivers, (other) stupid shoppers, (other) dumb LRT/Komuter/Bus passenger, and so on and so forth. But these persons (me included) may not be behaving as well as we had hoped the others would do.
Maybe if we could see ourselves in a 3rd person's view, only then would we realize how badly did we behave. That's why some of us don't like seeing a candid image/video of them, since they'll see a side that's oblivious to them in the first place.
I've Met My Long Lost Love
The last time we met, it was a splash! We got lost track of time, and before we know it, it was time to part. At that time, when I was wet for being inside her, there was this incomparable feeling. I felt calm, and relaxed as her cold touch brush along my body, as I lay down on the rocky bed.
A couple of weeks ago, I dreamt of her. Thanks to a friend who mentioned about going to meet her, and inviting me to join her. I was occupied at that time, so I can't accept the invitation.
And so I made a visit on my own. Accompanied by several friends, I actually managed to meet my long lost love...

I'm the kind of person who'd prefer river over sea and lakes any time. Especially if the river is upstream, where it is still cool, refreshing. I've lived by the sea for 3 years before, and only once did I dipped in it.
But ever since I got an invitation to go bathing in a river a someone's home last year, I've been trying to plan an outing to the river. Only that I don't know the way, and only last week did I get to get the proper wheels turning.
Thanks to both Farrahs, Farrah's brother and niece, Ana, Wan, Mira and her sister Imah, for reuniting me and my love.
Enjoy the pics!

Then, we went off to KLCC for the Kegemilangan Sains dalam Tamadun Islam exhibition. On the way to KLCC, it was announced that the road to KLCC is closed for the Le Tour De Langkawi race. Because of that, we get to see people taking advantage to walk on the streets themselves, since cars were not allowed to enter between 3-6pm.

Cheap Original DVDs
These days, I resort to buying DVDs (both Original and not), and going to the cinemas. While cinema offers better visual (larger screen) and better audio (THX and Dolby Surround), the ambiance usually throw me off. Not to mention the limited screening time, limited choices of movies (only the new ones) and not to mention high costs (Had to pay RM11 to yell at some obnoxious teenage girls and got an applaud).
Recently, I realized that Speedy's selling original DVDs cheap. Although the titles are the old ones, or those that's not flying off the shelves, It's quite a way to encourage buying the original.

For instance, I had just bought Feast (a brilliant gore-fest movie) and Fragile (yet to watch it) for only RM12.90 each. There's better choices if I were to choose the RM29.90 range of titles.
The thing is, it's only a DVD5 version of it (the ones with only the movie, several subtitle/audio choices, and a trailer). At least, the RM12.90 range is. My RM26.90 Blade DVD's also a DVD5, but I bought it a couple of years ago, so now it may be DVD9s for the RM29.90 range. Still, it's better than spending USD20 for a DVD9 version, unless if you really dig the extras (like deleted scenes, additional info, and even short movies) and the fancy boxes.
For a price like RM 15 a piece for an original, one could now ponder the thought of buying a pirated DVD and getting a low quality ones, or worse, showing it half way. But then again, a person with an internet access and a credit card could always buy it off Amazon for half that price (shipping and handling not included).
Good Guy or Bad Guy?
All good productions have believable drama, and all drama must have a protagonist (the one we sympathize on) and the protagonist (the bad guy). It used to be simple before, when the bad guy is as bad as he can be, just for the sake of being bad. And the good guy, he's/she's just plain good.
Productions nowadays, makes us sympathize with the bad guys as well. At times, we were taking an emotional ride, attaching us to the 'hero(ine)' just to realize that s/he's the bad guy in the end.
Others, makes us rooting for the bad guy, and loath the good guys. This is the most apparent trick in TV series, where the good guy is constantly being oppressed, without much retaliation. Well, the bad guy did get it good, but the audience had to wait for the whole series to end before having a chance to enjoy it.
Take, for instance, Bawang Putih Bawang Merah (BPBM - Indonesian TV Series) and Natasha (Malaysian TV Series). Everybody knows Alia and Natasha as the heroine in the respective series, but most of the times, they are being hated, instead of the bad guy (in this case, Siska and Tina). Mostly because of their "stupidity", "goodie-two-shoes", and being too honest.
It's not that we're supposed to be rooting for the bad guy, it's just feels like the directors are teaching us "don't be like the bad guy, don't be like the good guy too. Be somewhere in between". Don't be a bad person, don't be too good either.
